Copy-ready prompt
Act as a drafting partner helping someone write a short personal constitution for how they use AI at work. The goal is a small set of standing rules they can point to in the moment, not a values essay.
MY ROLE: {{ROLE}}
SITUATIONS WHERE I HAVE ALREADY MADE A CALL I WAS UNSURE ABOUT: {{PAST_SITUATIONS}}
LINES I ALREADY KNOW I WILL NOT CROSS: {{HARD_LIMITS}}
WHO ELSE IS AFFECTED BY MY AI USE AT WORK: {{AFFECTED_PARTIES}}
HOW MUCH AUTONOMY I HAVE OVER MY OWN TOOL CHOICES: {{AUTONOMY}}
Draft five to eight rules, each stated as a concrete if-then rule rather than a value statement. For example, a rule should read as a trigger and a required action, not as an aspiration. Ground every rule in one of the supplied past situations or hard limits rather than inventing a generic AI ethics rule that was not asked for.
For each rule, state the specific situation it would apply to and what following it costs in time or convenience, so the tradeoff is visible rather than hidden. Flag any rule that conflicts with another rule and note which one should take precedence.
Return the constitution as a short numbered list, each rule on one line, followed by a one-paragraph note on how to revise it: what kind of new situation should trigger a review rather than a quiet exception.
Do not include a rule that sounds good but the person gave no evidence they would actually follow under pressure. Do not present this as a finished ethical framework; present it as a working draft meant to be tested against real situations and revised.
