Steps
Prove the workflow before teaching it
Inspect a successful artifact and at least one failure. A plausible process description is not enough.
Choose the familiar outcome
Lead with what learners will make or decide. Introduce the AI tool only after the outcome and problem are clear.
Decompose the method
Turn the workflow into stages where every stage visibly changes the artifact. Define unfamiliar terms at first use.
Build a synthetic example
Use invented people, organizations, metrics, and source material. Label it synthetic and keep it realistic enough to expose the method.
Design independent practice
Give learners a bounded input, a starter artifact, a timebox, and a checklist. Avoid exercises that only reproduce the instructor's clicks.
Run a cold-reader review
Ask someone unfamiliar with the workflow to identify the outcome, perform the exercise, and explain how they know the result is good.

Failure behavior
- If the workflow has no demonstrated artifact, keep it as a hypothesis rather than teaching it
- If an example comes from a private community, replace it with a synthetic case
- If learners can follow clicks but cannot judge quality, add a visible checklist and comparison
- If the lesson requires confidential context, keep it private

Verification checklist
- The outcome is visible in the first screen or paragraph
- Every technical term is defined when introduced
- The example is explicitly synthetic or rights-cleared
- A learner can perform the exercise without the original workflow owner
- The checklist detects at least one realistic failure
- Publication approval is separate from lesson completion
